I’m Upama Bhattacharya, a PhD candidate in Sociology at UT Austin and a mixed-methods researcher studying race, ethnicity, migration, work, and suburbanization in the United States. My research combines statistical analysis and qualitative interviews to understand how immigrants build lives, navigate constraints, and create belonging. I am currently looking for postdoctoral opportunities in Sociology (with a focus on race, ethnicity, and migration) and roles as a UX Researcher, where I can apply my expertise in user research and information architecture to real-world problems.
